William Child - Gravy Mercedes
SAFEHOUSE proudly presents ‘GRAVY MERCEDES’: an original showcase of work from stop-motion animator, director and claymation artist: William Child.
Originally from Leeds, this is the first solo exhibition for the now Bristol based Child. ‘GRAVY MERCEDES’ will invite you in to an irreverent yet playful world of politicians, sports personalities, celebrities and musicians, who come to life, through the form of plasticine sculpts and set design. This distinctive body of work, created over the past 4 years, will also include pieces for commercial brands such as BT Sport, Reebok Classic, Old Spice and HUF.
Along side the animation studio, Child also has ‘Gravy Mercedes Records’, a record label to promote artists but also serves as a platform for Child’s claymation music videos. With an already strong portfolio of global artists, including the likes of PartyNextDoor & Drake, Trippie Redd & Young Thug and Benny Blanco.
